IMPAKTaid has now become The Impakt Aid Trust operating within approved legal and banking guidelines, and is non political, non-religious and non-profit making. This dedicated group has been so successful that established relief organizations such as Red Cross (Sweden), Luxembourg Search and Rescue and Germany's ORMS handed over surplus supplies and equipment before departing Sri Lanka in the knowledge that they would be deployed with the greatest efficiency.

IMPAKTaid continues to support, directly and indirectly, many thousands of displaced persons on the South West and South Coasts of Sri Lanka. These people remain in dire need of adequate shelter from the monsoon rains; many remain in poorly maintained tents and are subject to regular flooding. IMPAKTaid and a host of volunteers worked endlessly this week to help 348 displaced people in a tent camp in Moratuwa build monsoon shelters for themselves and their families.

The MOBILE MEDS UNIT operated by IMPAKTaid was recently in a displaced camp running an on-site clinic and found a small 4 year old boy named Chamila that required heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart. Volunteers began fund raising and within days the funds were collected. The mobile van brought Chamila and his mother to a hospital in Colombo and the surgery was performed with immense success. This program over the last 2 years has provided medical assistance to of displaced persons. Regular mobile clinics dispense medical aid and medicines free of charge.

IMPAKTaid continues to strive for better lifestyles for woman through their WORK FOR WIDOWS program and are pleased to announce that WFW products are now available for purchase at Orient Lanka's new duty free facility “ Plantation “ at Katunayake Airpot, ensuring even further the success of the program and the livelihoods of woman apart from the work mentioned above, IMPAKTaid strives to help the people of Sri Lanka through the projects mentioned herewith .
