IMPAKTaid continues to find people in dire need in Tsunami devastated Sri Lanka

Dateline: Colombo, Sri Lanka. Monday 14th February 2005 50 days have passed since the Tsunami struck the Indian Ocean coastlines and IMPAKTaid volunteers are still finding villages and camps in the south and east of the country in DESPARATE NEED. Despite the unprecedented response of the World community to this disaster many people still need the basics for survival. IMPAKTaid a local, grassroots organization is supporting etween 15 and 20 percent of the effected people. There appears to be no coordination and little cooperation between any of the international, domestic or other aid organizations, the only credible information of relief efforts is from the volunteers working in the devastated areas.

50 DAYS ON TSUNAMI SURVIVORS STILL WAITING FOR FIRST SIGNS OF HELP

On the same day that some aid agencies are reporting that too much money has been raised, volunteers from IMPAKTaid, a local grass roots organization in Sri Lanka, are still finding make shift camps where little, if any, aid relief has been
received.
